Case study – Member engagement and events
Memorable member experiencesbeyond the workplace
A record-breaking 5K challenge that brought 500 participants together for networking, fundraising and community engagement in Hyde Park.
The story
Professional associations are built on relationships, and some of the strongest connections are made outside the conference room.
The AIMSE Europe 5K Challenge demonstrated how a well-planned member event can bring people together in a different way, combining networking, fundraising and community engagement in an informal and enjoyable setting.
Despite a spectacular mix of rain, hail, thunder, lightning and even a welcome burst of London sunshine, the event attracted record participation, with 500 registered participants, more than 60 teams, over 30 asset management firms represented and more than 80 runners from consulting firms taking part in Hyde Park.
As AIMSE Europe's association management partner, CJAM was proud to organise and deliver the event, working closely with the Association to ensure a seamless experience for participants, volunteers and supporters from start to finish.

Event Highlights
- 500 registered participants
- More than 60 teams
- Over 30 asset management firms represented

- Record participation for the AIMSE Europe 5K Challenge
From planning and logistics through to on-the-day coordination, our team managed the operational detail behind the scenes, welcoming participants, supporting volunteers and helping to maintain the energy and momentum that made the evening such a success.
While the event centred around a 5K challenge, its real value lay in the opportunities it created for members to strengthen professional relationships, expand their networks and engage with colleagues in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
Events like the AIMSE Europe 5K Challenge demonstrate that successful association management is about more than organising meetings. It's about creating experiences that build stronger communities, encourage meaningful connections and reinforce the value of membership long after the finish line.
