TyreSafe Supports Decision To Keep MoT Intervals
|
In a recent decision by the UK government, the intervals between mandatory MoT tests for cars, vans, and motorcycles will remain unchanged, citing potential safety risks and ‘limited’ savings for motorists. TyreSafe, along with 4,500 organisations, responded to the MoT Consultation, highlighting significant safety concerns associated with extending the first MoT for vehicles from three to four or five years.

TyreSafe Supports Pothole Partnership To Combat Record Pothole Damage

In response to a significant surge in pothole-related vehicle damage, TyreSafe proudly announces its support for the newly-formed Pothole Partnership. This coalition, including influential entities like the AA, National Motorcyclists Council, British Cycling, IAM RoadSmart, the British Motorcyclists Federation, and JCB, is dedicated to addressing the escalating pothole epidemic on UK roads.
Alarming figures from the AA revealed a five-year high in pothole-related incidents, with 632,000 cases handled in 2023, causing substantial damage to approximately 2 million vehicles nationwide.

TyreSafe Joins Forces With The NMC To Promote Safe And Sustainable Biking

TyreSafe’s partnership with NMC, offers an opportunity to further raise awareness among motorcyclists, especially owners of older bikes, that constant maintenance is crucial not only for their safety but to reduce unnecessary riding bills. Riding with underinflated tyres not only compromises the performance of the motorcycle, it also increases fuel consumption and tyre wear. More frequent stops at the fuel station and need to replace tyres is both undesirable and avoidable.
