The latest news and updates from the BSGCT
Dear %FirstName%,
There are a few announcements we would like to share with you this month:
- Registration for our Annual Conference opens next week! This year our conference is held in collaboration with ESGCT and takes place in Edinburgh from 11-14 October. Further information will be announced shortly.
- We are pleased to announce that BSGCT’s online seminars have been approved for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development by the Royal Society of Biology. Participants can claim 6 CPD credits for attending a seminar. These credits can be claimed by participants registered with the Royal Society of Biology CPD scheme. Approval signifies that the RSB recognise that this event is of merit to the development needs of participants. Details of how to claim the credits will be provided during the seminars.
- A friendly reminder to all undergraduate students to apply to our “Undergraduate Research Bursary” before the deadline at 5pm on Monday 23rd of May. The purpose of the award is to give research experience to undergraduates and to encourage them to consider a career in scientific research. The award provides support for the student at a rate of up to £200 per week for a period of between 6 and 8 weeks. Applications can be submitted by BSGCT members who would be supervising the research. However, supervisors should discuss the project in detail with the nominated student, who should also contribute to the project design. Full details and eligibility criteria can be found here. Interested students can identify potential host supervisors for this scheme by searching our Supervisor Bank.
If you missed our Research Seminar last month on spinal muscular atrophy with Prof Laurent Servais, you can watch the recording now on our website.
After a long period of online events only, we look forward to finally meeting with all our members in person in Edinburgh.
Best wishes,
The BSGCT Board.
