Sussex Safer Roads Partnership

The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP) is continuing its work to reduce road casualties across Sussex. The Partnership is made up of Brighton & Hove City Council, East and West Sussex County Councils, Highways England, East and West Fire and Rescue Services and Sussex Police.

Why did Sussex Safer Roads Partnership get involved?

The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership aims to help make the roads of Sussex safer, building safer communities by sharing the responsibility and engaging with members of the public. The SSRP sees tyre safety and Tyre Safety Month as a key strategic campaign and an effective way to raise awareness to the importance of tyre safety and for regular tyre checks.

What did Sussex Safer Roads Partnership do?

The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership staged regular roadside vehicle checks with results used to secure tyre-safety related content in local media. The message was also carried directly to the consumer with educational displays, such as in a shopping centre where dual-branded materials are distributed.

The result

The SSRP activities had a direct influence on local public awareness of tyre safety, and in addition editorial coverage was secured in ‘Modern Mini’ magazine, providing a complete guide to tyre safety.
