TyreSafe and FORS Join Forces to Drive Fleet Safety and Sustainability
Enhancing road safety for commercial fleets through tyre awareness and best practices
TyreSafe, the UK’s road safety charity dedicated to raising awareness of tyre safety, has announced a significant new partnership with FORS, Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, to improve tyre safety standards across commercial fleets. This collaboration marks a major step in TyreSafe’s mission to engage all road users, including those who drive for work, and the businesses responsible for their vehicle management.
FORS is a voluntary accreditation scheme which promotes best practice for transport operators, focusing on safety, efficiency, and sustainability. With over 4,700 accredited companies since its inception in 2008, FORS is established as the transport industry’s foremost accreditation scheme, with training and guidance central to its commitment to operators.
By integrating tyre safety into the FORS framework, the partnership will help fleet operators understand the crucial role tyres play in reducing incidents, improving fuel efficiency, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Stuart Lovatt, TyreSafe Chair, said, “Tyre safety is critical for every road user, and those driving for work face unique challenges that make regular tyre maintenance even more essential. Our partnership with FORS allows us to reach thousands of fleet operators with vital tyre safety messaging, helping to prevent incidents, reduce breakdowns, and ultimately save lives.”
Geraint Davies, FORS Concession Director, said, “FORS is committed to raising operational standards across the fleet industry. Working with TyreSafe strengthens our efforts to ensure fleet operators are equipped with the best guidance on tyre maintenance, helping to drive safer and more efficient operations across the sector.”
Through this partnership, TyreSafe and FORS will provide accredited fleet operators with essential tyre safety resources, best practice guidance, and ongoing support to embed tyre safety within their daily operations. By working together, both organisations aim to create a lasting impact on road safety and fleet efficiency in the UK.
