Honouring the Emotions of the Climate Crisis
3 May 2022 at 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Free – £18.00Speaker: George Warren, Coach, Supervisor and Coach Trainer
How can we have better conversations about climate change and help others take action?
For most of our lives, the narrative of climate change has suggested it is a scientific issue. Ozone layers, carbon dioxide and decimal point temperature rises have contributed to climate change feeling clinical, objective and ‘over there’ – for most individuals and businesses.
The climate crisis is a human crisis. One inextricably linked to humankind’s over-appetite for resources and our desire to control. It is argued by many that this great unravelling of our ecosystem merely a symptom, a by-product of a system and way of being characterised by exploitation and wanton, unsustainable consumption.
What can we do on an individual, collective and societal level to move from ‘oh dear’ to action? What conversations would you like to have about this crisis? What could you do that will make you proud when you look back in the future?
George Warren is a coach, supervisor and coach trainer. Part of the global community of climate-conscious coaches and psychologists, he draws attention to the role of emotions and feelings in both what got us into this crisis – and will be necessary to get us out of it.
He will share his own experiences as well as some models and approaches which you can work with to help yourself and those you work with to steer a courageous, virtuous and human course through the years ahead.
ABP members are invited to hear about this fresh approach and hear how we can make a contribution to addressing, through our work, our era’s greatest long term challenge.
