Uzma Afridi
Board Member – Member Engagement
Uzma is an independent Business Psychologist and Coach. Starting her career in HR working for one of the largest Advertising agencies, has led her to provide Executive and Career Coaching to the media and creative industry through the National Advertising Benevolent Society. Driven to support individuals at all levels reach their potential and career aspirations, whilst ensuring organisations maintain efficiency and success.
She worked on the consultancy side for Criterion Partnership, where her appreciation for psychometrics, leadership and culture change evolved. She is a strong advocate for diversity, equality and well being within the workplace.
She most recently worked with Nationwide in a variety of areas, reviewing assessment & selection, talent & development programmes with an evidence-based approach in order to be future fit.
Uzma’s relationship with the ABP began 6 years ago as a volunteer to support the annual conference. She went on to co-edit the ABP’s 2015 published book – Business psychology in Action, advocating the importance and value of taking an evidence-based approach. She is now an ABP Board member, striving to grow the name and understanding of Business Psychology in the workplace.
